Wedding in India The Destination - Located at the southernmost tip of the Malaysian Peninsula in South East Asia, the lion city Singapore is the busiest port in the world with over 600 shipping lines sending super tankers, container ships and passenger liners to share the busy waters with coastal fishing vessels and wooden lighters. Population - Singapore is one of the most densely populated cities in the world, with about 6430 people per square kilometer. The population is a mix of Malays, Chinese and Indians with a smattering of other ethnic nationalities.

Language - There are four official languages in Singapore - Mandarin, Tamil, Malay and English. The Chinese ethnic population is originally from South-east China from the provinces of Fukian and Guangdong. Immigrants from the Malaysian peninsula, Sumatra, Java and other islands of the Malay Archipelago have thronged the state. About two-thirds of the Indians are Tamil, with a smattering of Malayalis, Punjabis and Gujratis.

Currency - The local currency is the Singapore dollar, SGD or S$. All notes come in denominations 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and 100 S$ and coins in 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 Singapore Cents. A Singapore Dollar (Sing $) = 100 cents. The currency of Brunei is also legal tender and as such the Brunei dollar is accepted at par in each country under an Interchangeability Agreement, so if you are visiting Singapore chances are you might come across notes with a picture of the Sultan of Brunei.

When to go - Singapore's temperature varies between 25 degree Celsius and 32 degree Celsius, offering a warm tropical climate with pleasant sunshine all year round. The country is wettest from November to January and at its driest from May to July.

  10. Snow City - Singapore's first indoor snow centre, filled with 150 tones of snow and snow play area, uses an entertaining yet educational approach to introduce sub zero climate to visitors.
